Are there seriously babies who sleep on their back? - Page 3

all 4 of mine have always slept on their backs and/or sides

Mine back-slept for the first 3 months, then back or side slept until 6 months. After 6 months, when the SIDS risk drops to nearly nothing, she started tummy/side sleeping. Now at a year she sleeps mostly on her tummy.

I wouldn't let her tummy sleep during peak SIDS time, I'm too paranoid.

Oh, just that they were tiny, and especially my first was much less able to move her head around than your average newborn. I was paranoid about SIDS because prematurity is a risk factor.

Both of mine did sleep on their tummies on my chest or belly, but they'd never do it on their own.

Both my sons have always slept great on their backs. DS1 is almost 3 years old and still sleeps on his back 80% of the time.

Mine sleeps on his back. He sleeps in a crib. He required swaddling the first three months to keep from waking himself with flailing arms. Now at four months he's still on his back but doesn't need to be swaddled.

But we always get him to fall asleep in our arms, often on his side, and then we set him in the crib on his back.

Both my girls (age 7.5 and 2.5) slept on their tummies from birth.

I'm the oldest of five kids, and my mom said each and every one of us slept on our stomachs from the get go.

my first was and still is a total back sleeper. My newbie however total tummy well i take that back she will sleep inclined on her back like in her swing or slung to be or in her newborn rocker/cradle thats has the incline but in her crib or in our bed shes on her tummy...
She naturally with out me trying to force anything sleeps from 9pm-5am on her tummy no mama in her right mind would messs with a healthy baby sleeping that streatch.

I was having trouble getting DD to sleep for more than 15-20 minutes, so at no more than a week old we started to put her on her tummy instead and what a change, I talked to my Dr about it and she told me that was fine as long as there wasn't alot of blanket by her head and face!
She is still mainly a tummy sleeper at 13 months but will sometimes sleep on her back or side!

I sometimes would do a side lying postion. But my kids for the most part sleep no problem on their backs.
