When to start progesterone?

Hi mamas! I'm hoping someone can help. I have been having a short LP (10 days, then 9 days; currently 6dpo) and my OB is having me come in tomorrow (7dpo) to check P levels.
My question is, IF my LP is less than 10 days, wouldn't supplementing with P be too late if I start taking it at 7dpo or later?

When would I need to start taking P to help lengthen my LP?
Thanks!!

It might not actually be too late if you start 7DPO, but generally most competent providers will tell you start 3DPO.

Most of the time, it isn't the first supplemented cycle that will work, though. It generally takes a few cycles of supplementing with progesterone... it helps kind of help your body make a better corpus luteum for next time. At least, that's what my CNM told me.

If your doctor tells you to start it right away, do so. If they tell you to wait for next cycle, do so.

It is NOT too late to start on 7dpo if you have a chance of pregnancy this cycle, you could end up with a chemical pregnancy if you are not taking it. However, if you aren't pregnant, don't expect a huge change from just that few days of use.

They won't even have results in until Monday (10dpo). :annoyed:
