I thought the same thing when I went net shopping for mattresses last year! You can get some incredible deals from online warehouse places, too, but they are seconds, or returns, or overstock... I couldn't research brands fast enough to make up my mind.

I ended up buying futon mattresses (I really hate springs) and wool toppers from here: http://www.northernnaturals.com/futon-mattresses.html I still love them... and they smell absolutely incredible.

more people want natural mattresses, makes it more affordable

i would ask them what their flame retardant is and what their "yarn insulator pad" is. You just can't make a truly organic mattress for this price....I would also ask "what else" is in it......

The cover on one side is organic cotton. None of the rest is organic. It is filled with cotton and wool and springs. This is not much different than another mattress with a separately purchased organic cotton cover.

Many so called organic mattresses are just regular mattresses with an organic cover.
