Fish Heads and Roe, Oh My!

Thread Starter
I have been looking into getting Roe for the vitamin K2. My local grocery store can order it for me and am not sure if it is the stuff I want.
Here's the details:
Shad Roe
5oz jars, $12.99 each, I must buy a case of 6.

And it is unknown if the Shad is farm raised, but we can only assume.
Do I get it? It is a good deal or should I continue to buy the oh so pricey kerry gold for my K2?

FISH HEADS!!
My local grocery store can also get fish heads for me for $1.99 lb!!! I have to by 10 lbs to get it.
Only you TFers would understand my excitement. Do you feel it?!
Now onto the details-
I can choose between
Cod
Pollock
Haddock

(all wild caught)
and Salmon (unmarked, but we assume it is farm raised since it is not wild salmon season in this neck of the woods)
Which one do I want?

not salmon. It's too fishy to make good fish stock. otherwise, I haven't a clue, but your quite lucky.

I'd look in the seafood watch guide, but yes, definitely not salmon.

As far as roe, you may also check to see if there is an ethnic store nearby, especially Eastern European markets.

Does farm-raised fish have high levels of K2? I don't know -- is there any way to find out? I've tried two kinds of roe now -- frozen from Vital Choice, and dried from Loki Fish co. The dried is really, really convenient. I just put it in my purse, and pop it into my baby's mouth when he's hungry.

The dried roe is $22.00 for 8oz. Wild-caught, definitely has K2. If smaller amounts of roe replaced the kerrygold, would it work out cost-wise in the end?

Cool about the fish heads! I have no idea how to direct you there.

ETA: wait, the wild-caught dried roe is only two more dollars total than the shad roe, if you price ounce for ounce. It might well be worth it. Here's the link:http://www.building-health.com/dried...8-oz-p-62.html
And they give free shipping if you order $50 worth.
