Organic cotton vs fleece cloth diapers...

I just started using cloth diapers on my newborn. I noticed that the organic cotton ones are not quite as absorbent, and I was told that fleece leaves them much drier.
What's better for their skin? Obviously organic cotton should be healthier, but isn't it better for them to be kept drier?

Organic cotton dipes often need more prepping than non-organic. You don't need to worry about "drier" if you change them more regularly. I only use organics, I change my guy every 90 minutes-2 hours or so during the day, and I use a fleece liner at night to go 8 hours or so between changes... not because it's "better" for his skin, just to keep him from waking up because of the wet.

It varies on the baby. Some don't mind feeling wet, but some do. My son HATES feeling wet, I was changing him constantly because the moment he got wet he was fussy. If you're baby is fine with feeling wet, then go for cotton. Otherwise you could just do a combo. Feeling dry is really good for overnight in my opinion, they seem to sleep better.

I personally have alwasys preferred cotton over say fleece. It seems that those I have known to use fleece battle the "stinkies" with them. With cotton especially organic or unbleached they really do need quite a few cycles of prepping (washing/drying) to remove the natural oils and fluff them to be absorbent.

I have always been a little ocd about changing the boys though so changing frequently was never an issue.
