Yeast infection in a 2 year old

Hope I am posting in the right place.

My DD (2) has been battling a horrible UTI for nearly three moths now. Nothing natural worked so we ended up doing some antibiotics, actually we are on round three. At the last Dr appointment the Dr said that DD looked like she has a yeast infection and it is probably from all the antibiotics (really?) and just to buy some Monistat and use that on her.

Ok, 1) I hate she is on antibiotics but this is our last resort, 2) I really don't want to use more man made crap on her and 3) that stuff has set my tushy on fire! Any ideas on what to use for her? I have some stuff made from organic herbs that I got from the Natural Health Food Store and I put it on her last night but that hurt her and I had to wipe most of it off. Any other ideas on what to do for her? I don't want to set my poor baby on fire, she has had enough issues with that area.

Oh, she has been on probiotics the whole time.

Is the yeast infection internal or external.

For externals, Vagisal always works for me. I know you said no man made crap, but seriously, its the only thing that gives me relief when I have an external one. I am assuming since shes so little, its external? Just be careful around the urethra.

I always believe that a yeast infection should be treated both externally and internally. Afterall, the symptoms may be external, but the problem originated inside in the gut because of all of the antibiotics.

I would double or triple the amount of probiotics she is taking or take a look at what brand you have and make sure it's a good quality one. Many probiotics out there are not as strong as they claim to be.

I would also add in lacto-fermented foods if possible.

Externally I would use coconut oil (it has anti-fungal properties) and is soothing, maybe mix in a little GSE (also has anti-fungal properties). Can also try TTO, lavender and garlic.

Internally there are a variety of herbs and tinctures you could use. You can use GSE internally as well http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T223917.html

Studies from Germany, Russia, England and Hungary show that the fungi are inhibited by many plants whose essential oils are potent antifungal agents—cloves, cinnamon, allspice, tea tree, lavender, garlic and chamomile. In one impressive study, the fresh husk of the black walnut was shown to destroy Candida better than a commonly prescribed antifungal drug. Echinacea, valerian and berberine (from goldenseal, barberry or Oregon grape root) have been shown to inhibit Candida in various studies.
