stinky laundry area!

hi! the laundry room smells.. even when the diaps are clean and the trash is empty. How do you combat this? (to be specific, it's more of an ammonia rather than poop smell). we wash the wetbags, too, so there's nothing actually dirty in there when the smell is smelly. could it be the washer? it's a he front loader..
thanks for any advice!

Have you tried running an empty washer with just bleach or baking soda? I haven't cloth diapered in years, as my kids are older, but I recall we would get stink over time and would have to strip the diapers by running them with out detergent a few loads and/or with baking soda. Also, my front loader has developed mold a few times in the grey seal area. I have to clean that part well a few times a year.

Maybe setting a box of baking soda ( the fridge kind where you peal off the sides) in there will help. Can you tell where the smell is coming from? I would try washing out your washer and if that doesn't help I would put my wet bag somewhere else and see if the smell goes away. Then you will know if that is causing it. If that is it maybe a little baking soda sprinkled in there every now and then will help. Do you keep your wet bag closed? That helps the smell a LOT! Hope you get it figured out/fixed.

My stepmom's FL washer got stinky and as mentioned above it was the grey seal. Crud had gotten stuck in there (lint, pet hair) and molded.

My grandmother also swears by running a gallon of vinegar through the washer once a month, just because.
