Deer Poop

This is a rather silly question and I'm sorry for asking it but has anyone used deer manure in their garden? I have it allllll over my yard. Those deer poop everywhere. I thought maybe I could make good use of it

Thank you, thank you!

You'll need to compost it, put it in a pile with leaves or straw for at least 6 months, then I'll bet it should be fine.

I can't find any information on whether or not deer poo is "hot" or "cold" manure. Personally (with nothing to back it up except personal experience w/poop) if the poop is in round pellets, I would think it's a cold manure, meaning it will slowly break down in the soil, and can be used directly, without composting first. If it is in clumps it may be more hot and possibly burn plant roots. Deer are very closely related to goats (which I have) and goats have cold manure. I read somewhere that any animal w/round poop pellets produce cold manure. We've used goat and rabbit pellets for years (direct application) with nothing but great results.

You might want to look into make manure tea with it to water your garden!
