17 wks. gush of fluid after DTD

The last two times we've dtd I've had a ton of very watery fluid that soaks the bed, not in just a little tiny spot either. TMI! the first time it happened right before I came, it felt really warm and then I felt a gush. It didn't have a smell to it and it wasn't normal sexually aroused fluid or semen, it was clear and watery. I have had a few more gushes throughout the day also that just soak my panties. I KNOW that increased discharge in pregnancy is absolutely normal and I do remember having this when I was pregnant with my dd, but I remember being WAY further along when that started happening and it certainly wasn't as much as it is now (every pregnancy is different). I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them this early? I seriously doubt it could be anything close to my water breaking......right? when my water broke with dd it was a constant leak but I was also 39 weeks.

I personally would go have that looked into just to be safe. It could just be some urine leaking ... but I would want to make sure that its not PROM. Good luck and keep us posted.

Women can have an um... Orgasmic fluid? I have, pregnant or not, for years. All women are capable but not all do it and those that do usually start long after they become sexually active. I doubt it's anything to worry about but of course you can be checked to be sure. If they can give you no explaination I would definitely bet your second tri sexuality has you starting to do it.

It could be that your just super wet while pg and arousal makes it more so. It could also be fluid from g spot orgasm.

Yep, I was going to say that sounds like you may have had a g-spot orgasm. Go you!

lol! that's what my SIL was thinking too. wow, two times in a row, lucky me!! Well I guess I am a bit spoiled since somehow my dp makes me orgasm every single time we DTD. It was only a matter of time . And I do find myself way more turned on in the second trimester, with my dd too. I did however just as a precaution send my dp to get some litmus paper, will test when I feel the need. Those things really came in handy towards the end of my pregnancy with dd. I certainly feel a lot better, thanks mamas!

ok so DP came back with some strips to test the pool that have three little squares for tests on them-one for chlorine, one for ph, and one for alkalinity. But I am just a little clueless how to read them (thanks preggo brain!) I tested against my saliva since I read somewhere that amniotic fluid is similar to saliva (is that true?) and the discharge/fluid ph turned yellow, the alkalinity turned green. The saliva ph turned dark orange and the alkalinity turned a bluish green color. Just wanted to double check that I'm correct that normal vaginal fluids are acidic and therefore the test strip turned yellow while amniotic fluid is more alkaline and the strip would've remained a reddish/orangish color, is this correct?

Do you have a midwife you could call?

Go in for an ultrasound. Do not try to test your own fluid. A vaginal exam will show leaking if you're at a higher AFI still, however NOTHING should be inserted into your vagina. Nothing.

In the hours after I ppromed I tested the fluid with ph strips and they had a false neg.

While it's most likely this is just vaginal fluid or semen this
does call for a visit with your HCP.

I would go in and have an us.

Seriously go in. There was a lady on another birth board who had a similar experience and every told her it was normal.

She finally went in several weeks later and they found a tear in the sac that is leaking.

It could be nothing but it's not something I would risk ignoring.

It's probably nothing, but I'd ask for a u/s just to be sure. PROM this early DOES happen.

I doubt this is anything however I did place a call to my Dr. He also thinks that it's probably normal and I have an appt. set up for Monday with an U/S. If it starts up again or gets worse or anything then I will go into L&D and get checked out, no sex, heavy lifting, anything in vagina or baths, etc.. It hasn't happened since yesterday after sex and I wore a pad since yesterday and so far still dry. No kind of drips or anything going on like that. I think it's just that even when I'm not pregnant I always get really wet and I know that it increases a lot when I'm pregnant, I just don't remember it happening this early with my dd. Thanks for everyone's concern and I will keep everyone posted as to what happens.

Okay, TMI question, but can you tell where it's coming from? My first thought was that you're simply experiencing female ejaculation. It's quite real, despite what some people might say. Do a quick search online to get more info on it if you'd like. But if it is that, it would be coming from the urethra, as the fluid is induced by the Gspot but does collect in the bladder and exit in the same way. If you can tell that it is actually coming from your vagina, I'd definitely be more concerned. I think either way, if you want to be sure you should go in to get it double checked. And I second the recommendation to not try testing it on your own. That would likely be unreliable. Keep in mind that it is quite common for women who have never had this experience before to have it happen in pregnancy for the first time. If that is the case, consider yourself a lucky lady! But again, any time there is a question of an amniotic fluid leak, it's probably best to get it checked. Have you had any other symptoms that could indicate early labor, or rupture? Cramping, bleeding?

I only felt it happen that one time and I don't know where it came from exactly, i just know that it felt really warm and then I felt a small gush, there was no smell or anything to it though. I haven't had any symptoms or anything, no cramping or increased discharge etc. The first sign of anything I will be hooving it to the hospital, no question about it. The first time it happened was Wednesday afternoon. my aunt who's a nurse thinks that it is just likely increased sexually aroused fluid or gspot as well. I am still feeling the baby move and kick

Just thought I'd post a quick update: everything is fine, of course no leak whatsoever and the baby looked great-It's a GIRL!!! Doc says that it was most likely a really good g-spot orgasm or even a little bit of pee that came out (not sure abt that since the sheets didn't smell like pee at all) but we DTD this afternoon and didn't have that watery gush, thanks so much mamas!!
