DOG litter tray? -for small dog

Has anyone used or heard of a litter tray for dogs?

I ask because we have tried using cat litter trays but the sides are usually too high for our very small dog to even step over to get into the litter tray...and if you think about it cats do have pretty long legs so no wonder they have no problem there.

I've also found the cat litter trays to be quite small and would like to find something bigger.

At the moment our dog goes "potty" on newspaper with a protective cover underneath it so the flooring doesn't get ruined. But it would be so much easier to have a litter tray yk?

(p.s we don't have a garden for her to use, and it isn't possible for me to take her outside for a toilet break in the early morning or last thing at night. And I don't believe in her having to wait for her "walk times" to use the bathroom, especially since her walking times change considerably some days. So a litter area in our bathroom is how we do it, she can go potty whenever she needs to then, just like cats.)

How about one of those plastic things that you can get to put muddy shoes on? Would that be too high still?

There are more and more options these days....

Here is one: http://www.doglitter.com/GetPage.asp...3209&T=5404089

There are multiple options for doggie litter pans these days- Second Nature is most commonly available, and Petco has a store brand (I believe they are the same as the Second Nature pans) They come in several sizes. You can also buy holders for the potty pads- basically a frame that holds the potty pad in place on the floor, no ledges to step over at all. Another idea is to use something else- maybe an underbed storage container? Some sort of rubbermaid bin? a concrete mixing pan? Find something large enough, and then if the sides are too high, its fairly easy to cut an opening down to the right height.

Thanks! I'll definately look into those options! That boots mat looks pretty good, I have used rubber type matts before, but the pee just runs right off the sides and onto the floor! That one actually has little sides on it though, so it should be way better! I'll have a look see if they do any bigger ones as that one is too small really.
