Which BFing book?

okay, I am trying to order some books for friends who are expecting. they are very early in their pregnancy so I thought I'd give them some AP type and natural birth books. Would you recommend, The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding or A Nursing Mother's Companion, I the latter - opinions?

I haven't read The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding yet, but I really recommend A Nursing Mother's Companion. I also enjoyed Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding.I've also heard that Breastfeeding Made Simple: Seven Natural Laws for Nursing Mother by Nancy Mohrbacher is good, and I'm going to read that one soon.

I love The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, too. It was my go-to for DD1, along with Dr. Sears' The Baby Book. I loved both of them because they could be read like a normal book, or used as a reference to look up a specific issue or question. I've used them again with DD2, but not as much.

My favorites are . . . The Breastfeeding Book by Dr. Sears, and So That's What They're For! by Janet Tamaro . . . . Womanly Art is great, but very overwhelming (for my brain, at least!! ;-)

Another vote for the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding.

I've read about 20 books about breastfeeding. The very best and most useful, by far, was BESTFEEDING. I also really used the breastfeeding advice from The Continuum Concept. Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is definitely an excellent choice.

I liked Ina May's book, which was just out this past October.
