newborn cold?

anyone have any suggestions for dealing with a stuffy nosed fussy baby?

I think my husband passed his sinus cold on to our son and I'm trying to figure out how to make him more comfortable.
We've been doing steam baths and sucking out mucus whenever we see them

has anyone ever given a newborn rescue remedy?
if so, how did you administer it? a drop on the head?

we've done breastmilk up the nose to loosen things a bit prior to suctioning with the bulb syringe thingie. You can also use a saline spray like that (easier to aim LOL) but we've always done breastmilk. We do the steamy bathroom thing too (just sit them in a bouncy seat in the bathroom w/ shower running and fan off)
