aramat - during pregnancy our midwife tested my thyroid by applying tincture of iodine to my skin. she said if it absorbed quickly (within a several days) then it was hypothyroidism. it disappeared on me within a couple of hours! i'm on an iodine supplement and another supplement to rebuild my thyroid - i can tell a difference in not feeling so cold and having more energy. it's also supposed to help postpartum depression which is why i asked about it in the first place. i had it terribly with my dd1 and this time i'm feeling great so far!
Chevelle is 8 wks old and 12.2 now. she won't take a bottle. she's having some health issues so i don't blame her. she is constantly on the boob. she won't even sleep unless i'm holding her. we are making some progress with a moby wrap which is such a relief. my 3 yr old dd1 is a little less accepting of the clingy new one, she wants mommy too. it makes me wish i had 8 arms.
i found a mass on her mass a couple days after easter. it started out like a marble and now its about the size of a ping pong ball. i've been to dr after dr and finally arrived at a pediatric surgical oncologist. she had an mri last wk (7wks then) where she had to be under general anesthesia. she was supposed to have surgery today to remove part of the tumor and biopsy it but the surgery before us got complicated and we were sent home. she went without eating for 7 hours but miraculously slept for almost 4 hours at the hospital and didn't scream for more than 10 minutes. i'm still in disbelief over that. so surgery at 8am tomorrow morning. hoping it won't take them too long to figure out what it is.
i didn't nurse dd1 and i am LOVE LOVE LOVING nursing. all the smiles and coos... i just melt. she started playing with my hair a little the last couple days too. i think its hilarious when she stops to tell me a story and then decides she's still hungry. how did i miss this with the first one?!
i don't post often but i lurk quite a bit
its fun keeping up on all the other mamas in this ddc.
ok off to bed. have to be back at the hospital in 4 hours...
