Ok guys, here's what's up,
Recently Ds (7mo.) has only been pooping when he is laying on his tummy. He's not quite crawling yet so when he plays it's usually on his tummy. He was doing great with poop until about 3 wks. ago. Now no matter what I do it seems he just wants to poop laying down.
I usually know when he's going to go soon so I will sit by him and be available. Then when I see him starting to go (poop is actually coming out) I get his little but to the potty, but then when he's there he stops and sits like ok mom now what. He does't get upset when I put him on the potty, he just stops going. This has happened 2 or three times in a day sometimes. Then when he gets a moment of tummy time to himself he decides to poop, so he can definitely control it. He doesn't seem to have a hard time going, it's not hurting him or anything like that. I guess he is just more comfortable with it in that position right now.
The clean up is not so bad because he's usually on a blanket or towel that I can just throw in the washer so I guess I don't mind if that's how he wants to do it, and I would rather have him go on the towel than a diaper or hold it and get constipated. I just still want to communicate to him that I want him to go in the potty and eventually sit back up to go. I'm not sure how to make the transition from tummy back to potty.
Any suggestions?
Also do you think that it will get better when he starts crawling?
