What horrible timing, too:

An aging Russian airliner carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski and members of his country's military, political and church elites crashed in thick fog Saturday as it took them to a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the slaughter of thousands of Polish military officers by Soviet secret police.

How terrible! It's scary how quickly a country's government could be absolutely decimated in a matter of minutes.

Terrible tragedy. I'm hoping it doesn't affect the stability of the country. My mom spoke to some relatives back home and everyone is in shock and mourning. It's very sad for everyone.

I just hope the investigation is on the up-and-up. There's a bad history between Poland and Russia and this really isn't helping with the distrust. I hate to think what the results will be if it turns out that the Russian investigation suppressed/hid any info.
