I don't have any personal experience, but am going to chime in that there is nothing magical about formula vs breastmilk with the exception that it's easier for staff to put lots of formula into baby quickly. That's actually the part that helps the jaundice. So if you can, nurse nurse nurse nurse. (I have a friend who is fairly well-endowed and she actually maneuvered herself to nurse while baby was in the isolette and under lights. Her babe's jaundice (Rh incompatibility) was severe enough that they did a full blood transfusion. They never used formula. Then again, she makes enough milk to feed tribes of babies.)
