tropical traditions coconut oil

I'm thinking of buying tropical traditions coconut oil because they have a buy 1 get 1 free special on their gold label oil. Does anyone use this oil? Is it really superior than the other oils?
TIA

It's my favorite. The taste is fantastic. I'm usin Nutiva right now due to price though. It's almost as good and a few friends and I ordered 4 gallons to get a nice discount.

It's delicious! It's also the only nut cross contamination free coconut oil so now I can justify the extra expense.

Hi Rachelle, I have a jar of Nutiva, and there are no warnings on it - do you know what makes it nut contaminated?

You can contact the maker. Almost every single oil is processed on lines with other oils, many of which are treenut or peanut containing. Cross contamination and "made in a facility" warnings are voluntary and not law.

The depth of treenut/peanut contamination is HUGE. There are very few foods out there that are free of it, even foods like ketchup that you think should never be contaminated.

As to the OP, yes this is the only CO that we buy and it does taste awesome.

I make my own ketchup now. I have not found any safe ones. Most are bottled in plants that pack peanut butter.

I like TT CO but I think it's way overpriced (although I completely understand with the allergy issue it would be totally worth it!). I get Mountain Rose Herbs instead or if you happen to be in this area (Pacific NW), Hummingbird in Eugene, OR has wonderful CO and a great price for co-ops.

I like TT the best and always try to have enough money saved for any of the 'two'fer sales on CO. I especially like that they use fermented coconut water so there are even more benefits to it.
