newborn's poop

My DS is one week old and since my milk came in his poops have been thicker than what I expected. My DD (also ebf'd) always had the classic, mustard seedy, loose, stools. But DS's are bright yellow, have "mustard seeds" to them, but are also kind of thick and pasty. It's kind of hard to describe, but they're definitely not loose. Has anyone had this happen with their little one? My midwife says she hasn't seen any like it so I'm kind of concerned.

ETA: I forgot to mention that they also smell, which is unusual for EBF poo. It is kind of sulfuric.

All of my EBF babies' poops have turned into the thicker, smellier poop around 2-3 months old but it didn't happen that young. I think it probably has something to do with your diet. As long as he doesn't seem bothered by it I wouldn't be too worried. If he seems to be uncomfortable with gas and has trouble pooping I may look into eliminating the common problem foods to see if that doesn't help. When eliminating, choose one common problem food to get rid of at a time and don't eat it for 3 weeks. That will make it easier to pinpoint what is causing the issue.
