I am getting a Kelty kids carrier. There is one on Craigslist for $25 and in very good condition. I am getting the framed backpack one. My mom is going to drive for me to get it Tuesday! Anyone have one of these? I'm strictly a beco girl and use my beco allll the time, but Saturday we were fishing and saw a little boy in one, and the parents were wearing him and then put him down so he was sitting in the carrier by the water, watching his parents, and eating a snack. I thought it would be cool to try one, even just for some of the time, even just like for fishing, hiking, for my husband to wear it (he does not like the beco). If anyone has a Kelty, please tell me how you like it!
Also, I'm getting a Kelty and have a beco, and these are really workhorse carriers it seems, so what would I get if I wanted something pretty, for like a party, for the summer. Anyone have a carrier for this purpose and is it a good idea? And don't want to spend a lot on it....like a ring sling, I guess, would be the best thing? The thing is, my son is a big boy, he is at least 23 pounds at 10 months...All I have is a pouch sling that I bought when my daughter was an infant from Peanut Shell but it's not very good because at the time they used this really really stretchy fabric and it was so bad that they put all those slings on clearance and that's when I bought it...so it's not supportive enough. Anyone make a sling? Either ring or just pouch sling? Like with silk brocade? I want to (try to) do this on the cheap. I will probably only use it on my hip if so. Like I said, I'm more of a two shoulder carrier girl, but I want something to look nice.
