so if i need 22in by 5yds of material...

and i have a queen sz sheet that's 92in by 92 in (or was it 96x96? i wrote it down somewhere).....if i cut it in 3rds would that work??? and then sew them together?

i'm trying to make this:

Well if its 92x92 I would cut your 22" piece and do french seams for the joing of the pieces. A french seam is hard to explain but it is essentially a double stitched seam. That should hold and work ok My pouch sling just has a serged seam where my 24 pound toddler sits and it holds just fine. HTH

I did a rebozo-length w/ cheap muslin and used a french seam, it's held up quite well. I now wish I'd done a kanga/african style cut instead, though...oh, well.
