A Potty Training Question

Thread Starter
My son is 23 mos and has been occasionally using the potty. He is pretty good about it in the morning and will also poop on it in the morning.

Lately, he has shown no interest at all in the potty and refuses to use it. My husband and I have certainly not insisted and just work very hard on ensuring his diaper is always dry.

Is this a normal occurance in potty training? There is no hurry and I do not believe in creating any stress around potty training. So we are happy to back off.

In your experience does it pick back up again if we just leave it alone? Thansk for any BTDT advice.

my toddler son would be doing great, maybe 75% success rate with making it to the potty, the he would refuse entirely for a few days, then go right back to going 75% of the time. Now that we have progressed to accidents once every couple days, the breaks haven't been happening. When he was taking a "break" I would keep offering/trying to take him to the potty to stay in the routine but not show any disappointment if he refused. good luck!
