just had baby a week ago and now one of my teeth with metal filling is chipped...

My beautiful baby boy was born exactly a week ago. And now I am tooth pain! My last upper molar has a huge chip on the side. It is an old metal filing. What should I do? It is starting to hurt but I don't want to get any toxins into my breastmilk....any advice? Anyone BTDT? thanks

My advice is to find a dentist who will take the right precautions and get it fixed right away. My cousin had a filling crack/break and didn't take care of it. The mercury got into her system and she is very sick. She is working with the CDC and my mother tells me that they are considering sending her somewhere to have her blood replaced somehow. She has sores all over her body.

Get some clove oil and STAT! :-)

I have had an achy throbbing tooth lately and the only thing that helped me get through until I saw my dentist was clove oil or even whole cloves slightly chewed and put directly on the hurting tooth. Relief within minutes and lasts all day. Also safe for pregnant and nursing mothers as far as I know.

You will need a filling or a crown though in the near future probably...
