Book suggestions for high-risk pregnancy?

I'm not pregnant yet, but considering it. I have had 2 previous premature births. Although I have a consultation with a perinatologist who I'm sure will answer a lot of my questions, I'm wondering if anyone has any book suggestions for a high-risk pregnancy that aren't horrible doom-and-gloom kind of things.

I might skip the pregnancy book altogether if I do this again, since I've done it twice before, but it has been a long time since I've been pregnant and I think it might be helpful to have some type of reference.

Hi:

I honestly haven't come across any. I usually do best just searching the 'net...and asking on MDC. I did find both of Ina May Gaskin's books to be reassuring--even though I was high risk, and induced for two of my births. I think just reading about "normal" pregnancies... "normal" birth... helped me to believe that I could have that as well. I also really liked Dr. Sears' pregnancy book--but once again, I don't remember a whole bunch about high risk births.

I did take out Rikki Lake's book from the library... and although there's not a lot in there for high risk Mamas, she does talk about different ways to make a c-section a better experience.

I know Roizen and Oz have a relatively new baby book out, "You: Having a Baby"... I have no idea how it is, though.. and how well it covers high risk births.

Just found this on Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/Your-High-Risk...1090588&sr=1-1

And this...

I've had three perinatologists---and I have definitely noticed some differences regarding approach, etc. So, if you're not comfortable with the one you are seeing, you might want to shop around.

Thanks! I haven't met yet with the peri, I'm awaiting my medical records from my previous pregnancies and then I'm going to have a pre-conception meeting with him. I've got a list of questions a mile long to ask. I'll see what I think of him after that!

I'm also high risk, but have not found any books that are particularly helpful for a high risk pregnancy.

I have found some information specific to my concerns, and some communities of moms who've BTDT with some similar risks to mine, through websites for organizations that do research or provide support for the issues that make me high risk. For example, preeclampsia.org has been a great resource for me.

Thank you! That is such a great idea, and I can't believe I never though of it before. I just went to the March of Dimes website and they have a forum dedicated to those trying or thinking of trying after a previous preterm birth.
