Vaginal breech birth making a comeback in Ottawa

My midwife told me about this story that appeared in the Ottawa Citizen today (in Ontario). She said that change is happening relatively quickly in the Ottawa area with regards to changes in breech birth practices because there is quite a lot of effort here -- the efforts of Betty Ann Daviss and Robin Guy are two, I believe, doing a lot of work here and elsewhere. Kudos to them and thank you.

ETA: I thought it was particularly great that the OB quoted was openly and (seemingly) willingly learning from the midwife experts because he had no experience with breech himself...if only there were more like that.

wow that's great to hear! Thanks for sharing and kudos indeed to Betty Ann and Robin. Ottawa has a pretty amazing birthing community, I find!

Great news
I have a friend who was told there was no choice but section for her breech baby.
Now she`s struggling to get pregnant again - a risk of C-section no one talks about.

I wish the community here in Northwestern Ontario would get up to date. Or maybe I should have just stayed in Ottawa...lol.

Listen today on CBC (FM 91.5) Radio Ottawa's show All in a Day at 4:15. Robin Guy (from Coalition for Breech Birth) is going to be interviewed with Glenn Posner, a doctor who caught the first "hands and knees" breech baby at the Ottawa Hospital late last week.
