Help, I'm starting over and forgot how to diaper!

Yes Yes Yes...point and laugh!

I am expecting baby number 3 in early July, but it's been 8 1/2 years since I've HAD a baby!

I had planned to do disposable diapers on this one, but my husband and 11 year old guilt tripped me and used all sorts of good arguments to persuade me to cloth diaper. I did cloth diaper my older two, and everyone else felt that "this baby deserves cloth diapers too!"

Anyway, I've totally forgotten diapering.

I do know that with the newborns I loved the Proservice wraps and prefolds. I am going to use those again, because the price is right and we're familiar with their set up. The NIIIICE lady at Proservice just gave me a mini tutorial but I still need your help:

How many newborn wraps would you buy? They go to 10 lbs. I'm thinking 3. Probably last us 3 weeks

How many small wraps would you buy? They go to 14 lbs. I'm thinking 5.

How many newborn diapers would you buy? They go to 14 lbs.
I am torn between 2 and 3 dozen.

I appreciate ANY and ALL advice you can give on how many of these things I should order! Thanks!

I tend to go for more covers... my kids love to explode on them!! I like 5 NB, 6 small and 6 medium. I have PFs and have 36 NB ones and 36 toddler sized ones (but I have 2 toddlers using the bigger ones) and for me that was a good amount. I get very easily stressed about running out of diapers

The number of wraps and the number of PFs are related to one another. WIth the NB, we went cover-less most of the time, so we could change him immediately, so 3 would have been plenty (we only had 1). For PFs, the question is - do you want to be washing every day to day and a half, or every 2-3? If a baby goes through a dozen a day, then 2 dozen isn't going to last you 2 days (if it takes 2+ hours to wash/dry - that could be another 2 dipes). I washed daily with my guy, but it was a bit of a pain. Don't forget that after he/she outgrows them, they make great burp cloths, wipe-up rags, diaper doublers, etc.

For the smalls - again, we only had 1, but we also had/have wool. Again, if you're washing every other day, will 5 covers get you through 2 days? It also depends on how you're using them. If you're trifolding, then pretty much every poop you'll have to wash the cover, but if you're fastening the dipe, then you only have to wash if the dipe leaks.

I'd rather err on the side of having more than less, especially in those early days when you're trying to recover and get into a groove.

I prefer to have at least 4 nb covers, probably 4-5 smalls and 3 dozen pf's... Relatively speaking, they don't cost that much and you can probably sell them here later!
