BPA in contact lenses

Does anyone else worry about this? I know BPA is in most soft (or non-shattering) plastics, so I am assuming it's in the contact lenses that I've been wearing for the past 15 years! I'm hoping to conceive soon, and am curious to know if any other mamas avoided wearing their lenses while pregnant, or during pre-conception.

Also, does anyone know if there are any contact lenses without BPA?

Thanks!!!

good question, i wonder if bpa is in contacts. i wear them too, and i guess the best thing to do is to reduce wear and choose glasses instead. Many women can't wear contacts in the later part of pregnancy because of vision changes and discomfort. I know with ds I had to stop wearing them the last couple months. Also I wonder about the solution they are kept in, what type of chemicals are going into the eyes when you put them in, oh man more for me to worry about, lol!

okay a quick google search and the answer is yes: bpa is in contacts

ILoveMyBabyBird--thanks for the info. Maybe I should start wearing my glasses more...ugh. I have really bad eyesight (thick lenses), so I feel like a giant dork in my glasses. I have thought about doing Lasik, but it's really expensive and I'm scared!
