Need Cover Recs

We need some new covers. We have GMD prefolds (brown edged) and currently have 2 dancing bears fleece covers (love) some bummis (ok) and a fishnoodle (like). We seem to have issues with the covers gaping at the front? Like, instead of staying against their little pot bellies they kind of open up if that makes sense. I want to try the Thirsties Duo covers, because yay snaps and cute prints/colors! I definitely want snaps... and I am VERY wary of the care wool requires so I would like to stay away from that (plus I am allergic to lanolin...) Anyway, any good recs? I need something that isn't super sensitive to how it is washed and will hold up well.

I had the belly gaping problem too. What fixes that for me is covers (or pockets) with elastic in the belly or foe all around.

oops gg- ds just woke up

Do they make covers with elastic in the front?

I haven't tried the Thirsties Duo Wraps with snaps, but I love the Aplix ones. I also have a couple of the new Happy Heiny's wraps with Aplix, and really love them but the elastic is pilling already and it's only been a couple of months. I like their coverage though - they fit really well even over Mother-Ease fitteds.

I am in love with Thirsties covers, we have had no leaks (no gaps either, but DD is still quite little). We've only used the aplix ones. I've used the size extra small, size small, and new size ones.

I love the Blueberry one size. They don't have elastic on the front, but they don't sag for us anyways. They are bullet proof and I love that it is the only size you need.

We use the Mommy's Touch one-size covers with snaps. Love them. I do get some gaping at the tummy but it has never been problematic (don't think he has ever leaked there).

i always grab our thirsties duo wraps first. we don't have the tummy gap problem though in general, so im not sure if that would be an issue for you with the thirsties. good luck finding something!

I love thirsties the most but use the aplix kind. Started with duo wraps size one and then just regular thirsties when she outgrew them. no leaks in the front and they don't gap in the front.

Looks like I definitely need to try a Thirsties

We love our Thirsties, too.

I had that problem too with my girls. I fixed it by going up a size. My younger DD has a really long torso, so she needs a cover with a higher rise. We use Thirsties, not the duo ones though, and we love them! Switching from a medium to a large in her case was just what we needed for the tummy gap. Now her clothes stay dry!!

How about GAD covers? They snap on the hips and the waist is elasticized.

Or GEN-Y covers.

The blueberry minky wraps don't seem to gape for us. I only use them at night though, so I'm not sure how they'd do during the day. That's the only actual cover I use. (I just got some Swaddlebees fleece wraps that I have high hopes for though.) During the day, I use fitteds with fleece pants over them. No gaping problems with that!

I was going to say fishnoodles, but I noticed that you already have one. I really like the fit of them, but don't like the the foe gets wet sometimes. There's also Booroi- but they have foe, so they have the same problem. Side snapping covers don't work for us, either.

I can't think of any cover that has elastic in the belly. I use the AMP Duo as a cover, but that's over trifolded flats. So I guess it's more of an AI2.

The GAD PUL cover has fleece binding, so no wicking, and an elasticized belly.

Are the GAD covers sized or one sized? I have a 21 pound 10 month old and a 27 pound 2 year old... I like them being able to wear the same size, would I have to get 2 different sizes for them?

Don't tell me that- I might "need" to try a new cover

You might be able to get them both in the medium long. Check their measurements but I bet it would work. Dd started wearing ML at 9 months and still wears it at 2.
