Occasional very quick reading with digital BBT.

Some mornings my digital BBT goes off really quickly.. although I'm half asleep, I can tell it's in less time than the usual length before it beeps.

Has anyone had that issue? What do you do in that case? Use the temp that was short? Do a 2nd temp and chart that one? I have been temping twice in this case and I do get different temps...I'll record both temps but not sure which one should really count??

if it's like my therm, it starts from the same number as it ended up on yesterday. so if your temp is close to the day before, it's quick. if it has to go up or down a lot, it takes longer.

Mine does that sometimes and I stress that I didn't put it in far enuf, bc my second temp is ALWAYS a hair higher. (tho, that could be cuz I'm more awake? I try to be perfectly still, but there's a bit of movement in putting the therm in and out...)

Know what I do when that happens? (This is probably bad ) I take THREE temps, one right after another, trying to move as little as possible. I "use" the middle of the three temps (as in, not the highest or lowest). I always record the other temps in the notes section on FF, tho.

When my therm is warmer it does that.

babygrey - re: stressing if you put it in far enough- here's how you know...

you put it under your tongue, and the probe tip goes against the fleshy part there where your tongue meets the bottom of your mouth. you can do it right in the middle, a little to the left or a little to the right. do it the same each time, because the blood vessels on each side of the underside of your tongue are a little differnt, and if you switch sides, your reading will change. you will know it's in far enough because you cant put it in any farther- youre butted up against the fleshy wall.

karmab- you're so sweet to offer help. I should've mentioned that I vaginal temp, tho and, as far as I know, there's not such good instructions for finding the far enough in spot except that it doesn't hurt and it isn't falling out... I know when I'm in the right spot, but, half asleep laying down, sometimes I don't know if I'm not quite there yet.
