grilling - Page 2

Chicken breast, salmon, wings with homemade bbq sauce, asparagus, turkey or bison or venison burgers.

How do you make a grilled pizza that doesn't fall apart in the grill or anything?

One of my favorite grilled chicken is taking chicken breasts and marinading it in a mexican style marinade (I think Lawry's makes it... but I'm sure other companies make something similar). Grill it (while basting with more sauce). When it's cooked you top it with some salsa and shredded cheese. Let it sit on the grill a minute to melt everything all together. Serve with grilled veggies and rice.

My fav grilled veggies are a mix of yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers (red, yellow, orange, green) and onion. Cut into chunks, marinade in an italian dressing, put on skewers, grill then put them back into the bowl you marinaded in (with the extra dressing). Toss. Sometimes I'll put on a little parm cheese too. Yummy

if you've never had grilled okra, you should give that a try.

throw a red pepper on while you're at it and make a roasted red pepper something or other to stuff them with (blend with cream cheese or a vegan alternative or even hummus).

use kabob skewers/ impale the okra on the top and bottom for easy flipping.
..i'd never heard of grilling okra but someone turned me on to it and it was so mind blowing awesome it's now my personal mission to spread the word.

Ooo... thanks for the tip. I get okra in my CSA box every year and have been afraid of trying it, so I always just wind up tossing it after it goes bad. But grilled - that I can try.

MMMMM,I love okra. What a great idea to grill it! I never thought of it before. Never thought of stuffing them either.

Cristeen, you can always toss okra in soups. So good! Another great way to have it is to render out some fat from bacon, set bacon aside. Cook some onions and garlic in the bacon fat. Add sliced mushrooms and either fresh or canned tomatoes. Salt and pepper and a dash of cayenne. Sometimes I add some oregano. Let cook down a bit and eat. Great for camping, too!

Whole fish on the bbq is amazing! You can just do it plain and drizzle lemon on afterwards or stuff the fish with herbs and other stuff- garlic, chilis, lemon, ginger, cilantro combo is really yummy. Or simple lemon and dill. Or you can wrap a whole fish in tinfoil to steam on the grill and put whatever you like in there with it.
