I probably wouldn't keep my children home before a strike because that doesn't seem helpful. I would happily get involved in whatever way I could, however - phone trees, letters, etc.
If the teachers do decide to strike, I would not send my children to school. I can teach them at home if needed, but I won't cross a picket line.
