For those who encapsulated their placenta

Did you see any difference postpartum? I mean, if you took the pills, of course

I am due April 29th and still haven't decide if I want someone to encapsulate it, so I could take it postpartum.

Thanks
Sophie

I'm curious to hear stories too. I am considering it this time.

I did, and I didn't get up the courage/guts to do it til 8 mos pp. I am planning on doing it asap this time.

Also try ppd for discussions.

I did. the placenta lady was out of town and got them finished at two days pp. I was starting to feel hormonal and had cryied a bit that day, took them that evening and started feeling better pretty quick. That was the main thing for me, I just felt like a happy new momma, not hormonal at all, no baby blues. Hard say if it helped my physical recovery, because my first birth was a c-section. The left overs are in my freezer, saving them for menopause

I took them this time, still am actually, DD will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

I'd say they made a big difference for me.

With DS I swear I wasn't capable of thinking clearly for months, my brain just felt "foggy". This time, I haven't really felt that at all, unless I get super tired.

With DS I had quite a few periods of crying and "baby blues". I haven't cried at all this time and I've only teared up a few times. Over stuff I would normally tear up over (sad news stories, good songs, etc..)

I have more energy this time, I'm not sure if this is because I have to - due to needing to take care of a toddler, or if it is because of the placenta. I was more tired at the end of pregnancy than I was the first few weeks after DD was born.

I did not have PPD last time or this time.

I bled for a lot less this time, only heavy bleeding a few days and then down to being able to wear one pad/24 hours if I wanted. Completely stopped around 3 weeks. Now just some spotting every now and then.

I took 2 pills 3X/day for the first 2 weeks or so. Then 2 pills 2X/day for a week or so. Then just one or two a day depending on how I feel. I am a little bit sad they are running out. I have 100, but still have some powder left, I didn't have enough capsules.

The first 2 days, the day she was born and the next day, I had raw placenta in my morning smoothie. Had I known I really wouldn't be able to taste it, I would have just frozen the chunks and done all smoothies. I will do that next time, just because it's a lot less work than encapsulating.
