Sonlight in the Summer?

Hi, my DD is 7, and at the top of her 1st grade class. I am wanting to enrich her learning this summer, and am considering getting Sonlight Core 1+2, not anything else, just the core books, and having her read those for the summer. Is this a good idea? She also likes worksheets, ect. We are an atheist family, but I like the idea behind Sonlight, reading whole books and learning history and science thru them. Any insight is appreciated! I'm not wanting anything rigid, just something to keep her busy reading thru the summer that she will find fun. I'm open to any other ideas, but I am super-busy w 2 year old twins, and a 5 year old as well, so I can't spend a super amount of time planning or even working w/ her on things. I'd prefer something already made out, so I can just follow the plan, and she can read whenever she wants. I don't want to add any math or language arts, just reading for history/science. Those two areas aren't really taught much in K/1st. She is really smart, and reading shorter chapter books, she had loved the American Girl books, Magic Treehouse books, Laura Ingalls books, ect. It would be a plus if my 5 year old going into K could do part of the things w/ her, like helping w/ the science experiment, listening to the books, ect. SHe does not read yet.

Thanks so much!

NAK

i have p3/p4 so i'm not sure how detailed the older grades are but so far i love it. p3/p4 has 3 bible books which i just obmit and replace with secular books and the other books are all secular so it's very easy to make non-christan.

the book lists so far have been awsome! an amazing list of books to read all based by age. really i think i'm going to continue to use sonlights lists throughout my kids lives beacuse it's so good. I think it could be good for summer and then you still have it to work through at your own pace the rest of the year. the books are great to have even if you end up not using the sonlight guide.
