Please help me figure out what this pain is (cross-post)

I am really sorry for the cross post, but I have an appointment tomorrow and really need help before then--trying to get as many answers/views as possible.

I had a missed miscarriage diagnosed on March 30, baby stopped growing just after 8 weeks (was supposed to be almost 10 weeks). This was my second miscarriage, and I had my first D&C the next day.

Before I found out I had lost the baby, I was having some pain in my abdomen. Everyone kept telling me it was round ligament pain, or regular uterine stretching. It was debilitating--I could not comfortably move.

This pain has continued up until now--thirteen days past the D&C. It has lessened, and become more localized, but it's the same pain. Now it is centered on my left ovary area. Sometimes the pain will shoot down my leg or through to my back, and sometimes I will feel the same pain on the right side, instead of or at the same time as the left.

My doctor first told me that I shouldn't still be having pain, then her nurse told me it was "probably just [my] period" (coming 5 days after a D&C, WTF), and finally scheduled an ultrasound.

Ultrasound was last Friday, showed NOTHING WRONG, according to the nurse.

What do I do? I am looking for ideas as to what this could be, so that I can ask for specific testing to be done when I see my doctor tomorrow. There doesn't seem to be an ideal forum for this type of question...

And for what it's worth, the cause of the miscarriages has never been determined, and I have no known pelvic problems.

I'm sorry I don't know what could be causing your pain that wouldn't show up on an ultrasound... unless they just didn't do a good job on the ultrasound. Was it trans-vaginal? If not there might be something they weren't able to visualize I suppose.

OT, but I couldn't read and not post to say how sorry I am for your losses. I have had three miscarriages myself, but after the first 2 (even though they're "supposed" to wait until after 3 to do any testing) my ob decided to send me for testing for blood-clotting disorders (the easiest and cheapest of the tests that they typically run). And in fact I was shown to have a blood-clotting disorder. You might want to push a bit for *some* testing, even if your HCP doesn't usually test until you've had 3 losses.

Good luck getting some answers about your pain and your mc's mama.

It was transvaginal, and it was done at an independent radiology clinic--the tech did not know what to search for, so she basically scanned my whole abdomen. When she pressed around the left ovary area, it hurt. It has hurt during every ultrasound, even when the pregnancy looked healthy.

Thank you for the tip on the clotting disorders--I'm not even sure where to go from here; I pretty much feel like a broken shell of a woman.

Oh mama, I hear your pain. I'm so sorry for how you are feeling right now. It will get better.

This is a long shot - but is it possible that it could be trapped gas causing the pain? I have had some bouts of incredibly painful gas, esp during pregnancy, where it felt like something was seriously wrong.
