I'm looking for some advice on planning for daycare for my two daughters for the fall. I will be starting full time nursing school in September. My dh works out of town from Sunday night through Thursday night. When I start school, dd2 will have to be in full time daycare. DD1 will be in kindergarten 3days a week and I will need daycare for her 2 days a week.
Daycare in this area is pretty hard to find. We are on two different waiting lists of highly recommended daycares. The other option is a friend of ours who runs an in home day care. My daughters know our friend and like her. I trust her completely. This would be my first choice except one major problem. My friend is pregnant and due in October. She plans to keep the daycare running up until she delivers and then reopen in December. I am concerned that if something comes up in her pregnancy that she will not be able to remain open until October and then I will be scrambling to find care at the last minute which may prove impossible. Also even if she does work until October, I have to find care for a couple of months. I am concerned about my daughters transitioning to daycare, then switching daycares, then switching back.
