newborn covers with snaps!

Thread Starter
hi!
we are expecting our first baby in sept and am starting my research for cloth diapers. can anyone recommend good newborn covers with snaps (no velcro/aplix).

so far, i have found rumparooz AIO (but they aren't covers), but they are 2 for $30 on kellyscloset.com. i like that they are convenient, but i know that the drying times will be longer. i know i could use a prefold or insert to use the diaper as a "cover" but i am worried about bulk.

otherwise i have seen mommy's touch for $16 each.here. i know i will need prefolds with these.

thanks in advance for your advice!

Thirsties has a new cover out called the Duo, which has snap adjustments for the rise, as well as a snap option for closures. Only snaps in the solid colors for now, prints will be available soon (they are only available in velcro). I like Thirsties, and they are still my go-to cover for my 1-year old DD. I really like the Duo, and wish they had been around when she was first born.

Yes! I'm so excited to try the thirsties duo wrap with snaps - I love the velcro version!

I am ordering some Thirsties Duos tonight to try, I have a bunch of bummis super snap covers in my NB/small stash. They are basic white but excellent workhorse covers. Plus my kids tend to be big and move onto mediums pretty quickly so I wasn't to worried about the small sizes looking pretty, just working well!

i used motherease for dd1 and liked them so much, and culdn't find anything better so i got them for dd2. sh's now 3m and still wearing the x-sm, can also wear the sm. i still love them no leaks and have pul inside so i can reuse them
i use gmd prefolds and both the orange and yellow fit in the x-sm. must be snappied
i'm looking into the blueberry snap coverall to use without a snappi, when my prefolds get to small to snappi, though right now i have more than enough covers that i can't think of buying more

We used motherease, the airflow are the ones with snaps.

They have lasted well for us, I got them used and they lasted through my 2 and are now with my sister.

ETA they are not a snug cover and the nappy underneath did need fastening.

Imse Vimse softwrap with snaps or motherease airflow best in my opinion. Why don't you want aplix?

I like aplix on newbies and infants and snaps when older. I can not get a good fit with snaps on my skinny mini newbies.. and for some reason mine always jumped and cried when they heard the snaps clicking or "snapping" buut not the sound of velcro (which suprised me).

However I LOVE MEAF cover even though the XS is still really big on my LO

I think snaps work on NBs if they are side-snapping, but if they snap in the front, you often can't get it tight enough.

I liked mother-ease when I started in size small later on, so I think I would like to try xs on our next baby as a newborn.

I liked the bummis super snap for newborn because it had a very low dip for the cord stump. The fit was just fine for us being a snap cover. Here's a pic http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

Ha! I'm thinking of trying snaps because my DD jumps & cries at the velcro sound! Worried about not getting a close enough fit though. Like pp, I also really like the Thirsties Duo, so I'll probably try a snap one.

We really like the Tiny Tush xs covers for newborns, they come in snap or aplix. They have gussets and are made very simalar to the Thirsties covers.
