Hello! Let me know what you think! I'm trying to determine if my EBF babe is just normal gassy or if I should look into a dairy sensitivity. (Note that I've been eating dairy since the day he came home.)
So my little guy is 2 months old. He has been a little gassy since birth - what I would consider to be totally normal - until 2 weeks ago. Starting two weeks ago he's had more gas than usual during the nighttime hours (daytime gas has been off and on more). He's been grunting and kicking his feet straight, probably both typically normal. However, he's been having episodes where he is starting to cry while grunting and kicking and he'll also really fuss and cry out when he's having his diaper changed. During these times his belly is bloated. I've been trying massaging his belly, bicycling his legs, doing the colic hold/squeezing in his legs, etc and they have helped to some degree. If I let him lay on my stomach he'll not cry and will even lightly sleep. It's obvious he doesn't sleep too well (and of course neither do I!) as the following day he'll sleep all day - our nighttime episodes are usually starting around midnight. Eventually, during the morning hours 7-8am-ish he'll finally poop (he no longer has seedy poop).
I've read that between 6-8 weeks babies are gassier. I'm just wondering if what I've described sounds like the norm or if he might be sensitive to dairy. I have not cut it out for 2 weeks yet. I did cut it out for 24 hours (2 nights ago) and he did sleep better that night, but for a one night deal it's hard to know. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get to the gym and not thinking had a protein (whey) shake on my way out. He had troubles last night again and today he's had two diapers with green poop. Dairy is the only thing I've consistently had on a daily basis along with wheat. I don't have much, a glass of milk or so for an amount a day, sometimes yogurt for lunch. Can a dairy sensitivity just all of a sudden appear? That's what's getting me - he wasn't like this (the crying part anyway, he's always had a little gas in the morning) prior to the 6 week mark.
Any ideas or advice? I go to the pedi on Friday for his 2-month check-up and can get her opinion, but people on here seem to have more experience IRL. I'm not opposed to cutting out dairy for a couple of weeks and can do that, I just don't want to if I don't have to!

I wish I had gone dairy free sooner! But I have really adjusted and don't miss it as much as I thought I would. And I can at least think of the day when I can go back to it (even if that is two years from now).
