I have a high energy breastfed (and feeding) 13 month old DD. We did "baby-led-weaning" at about 7 month but real slow, according to a list from a naturopathic doctor. DD has tried many foods but now seems to be decreasing what she will eat. We can't even sneak in vegetables anymore. She will only eat artichokes. She loves grains and fruit but even those aren't eaten with the same relish.
I am worried about nutrition but also whether she will be permentantly a picky eater (I have babysat so many older kids who will only eat hot dogs or grilled cheeze). I can now see how that happens-baby refuses more and more mommy starts offering less and less. I do my best to keep offering even veggies.
Is this my fault? I know people to gave purees of kale or broccoli iand now baby loves those foods. Do/Did I not eat enough veggies so she is not used to the taste form breastmilk?
Feeding her is the hardest (!) part of having a baby.
I need some advice or thoughts but also some pats on the back that it is (IF it is) going to be OK.
THANKS

She's only 13 months old and it is completely normal and natural for her to eat very little solid food. She may have been very eager to eat for a while because it was new, and now it's not so it's just not as interesting. This is one of the wonderful things about nursing past the recommended age of one, there is no rush to make her eat. Just continue to offer her healthy foods she can feed herself when she's interested, and she will eat. She may not eat much of anything for quite a while but that's okay, she will eat when she's hungry. My oldest didn't eat solid foods period until he was 14 months. All of my kids have eaten very little solid food before their second birthdays, and they all (so far, of course, the baby is only 18 months and still doesn't eat much solid food) eat a great variety of healthy foods. To be honest they eat much better than I do.
