I'm trying to plan (I know, some things can't really be planned can they?) and because I'm a teacher, I'd ideally like to ttc during a certain window. My fear is that since I'm so much older now, it might not be as easy as it was when I was younger. I know fertility declines a lot as women age, but how much? I was 28 when I ttc my first and she was on the first try. My second was when I was 31, and she was the third month trying. I'm now 37.
My cycles are very regular, and although I'm not currently temping, I have fairly recognizable fertility signs. I'll start temping as we get closer to the window, since we're not trying until July I thought I'd temp in May and June.
I've given myself a 5 cycle window of ideal timing for this next one. If I don't get pregnant during that time frame, my husband and I would have to figure out what to do about timing since I really don't want to miss the very beginning of the school year and setting up my classroom. I'm starting to wonder if I should start trying even earlier.
Did anyone have an easy time ttc their first 1 or more and then have a significantly harder time with #2, 3, etc? I know there is such a thing as secondary infertility, but I think I'm asking outside the realm of that, just kind of with age and naturally declining fertility.
