The Official Treasure Map of 2010 - Page 15

Everyone's Maps/Boards look amazing!

I am very impressed by the 'book' idea. Love the idea of leaving the back page blank and writing things on it as the year goes by. Love it!

I still have not taken photos of our boards, will try to do so tomorrow.

Again, everyone has done such a great job.

I am blessed to have been part of this 2010 TM extravaganza, thank you to all!!!

Well after waiting for the camera to charge its battery! Here are the pictures...

http://picasaweb.google.com/kathryng...96_Katy_Stuff#

I liked the chakras and then they became flowers, which then became an even bigger flower.

I have the following revelations since declaring it done:

The saying "The path of the peaceful warrior" and the yoga pose above it is warrior 3.

The picture of the standing splits with the word love underneath it. This is cool because the foot is the grounding foot, and its grounded in love.

Its very surface so far... but I can't wait to see what these manifest...

So my map is on pause. Not sure how or why but going with it. I had the whole board covered on friday ready to glue and my husband took a peek at it. He mentioned that it looked a lot like last years.
Defensive part of me said to self - no it is so different but then I looked, I really looked and it kind of was the same thing again - for almost the 4th year.
So, some of it got glued and I decluttered much of it. I had so much movement from my map last year and I think I need to dig deeper. I will try and write my intentions out tomorrow and get the map wrapped up. Movement is already happening - but movement from what is in my thoughts and not on the map. old me would have thought big coincidence but this is intention.
I almost want to just have Be brave and act with courage on the map with nothing else. My heart knows what I want and I've made room through the past few years of mapping - but i have not acted in bravery yet and the time is inching closer.
I'm grateful to my husband for pointing out the sameness of my map - it allowed me to open my heart.

This is an exciting map! I usually plan things and do things "perfect" or at least do things I am fairly confident I am good at. Ha! This year was different. I had no ideas and was drained from traveling/time zone changes. I sat down last night finally to get started and still had no ideas. I tried out a couple loose ideas and they were both a bust. I sort of combined them and added more pizzazz and got the base map finished last night. Or so I thought. This morning, it lacked vibrancy, so I got out the watercolor pencils and crayons again and added more color and designs. By breakfast, I was satisfied with the map base. I wanted it colorful and vibrant because last night I had the idea to write my affirmations on a vellum flower and overlay it on the map base. As the day continued, though, I didn't like that idea. Sheesh! I was so all over the map today (not like me usually). Eventually, it all came together and I love it!!!

Treasure Map 2010

I combined the chakras and baguas. The chakras called me first and I had intended just to go with that. My layout, however, didn't lend itself to pictures with the chakra affirmations unless I did a lot more work (one circle pic for each of the ten chakras I did) and I wasn't willing to do that this year. I was okay with no pictures on the map, but the chakras (at least the way I did them) didn't include some important areas to me. So, I added pictures to the other areas based on the bagua colors. I'm usually so neat and orderly and this map is so messy to me. I love it and am getting used to it quickly! For comparison, Treasure Map 2009 pictures.

I hung my 2010 Treasure Map next to where I sleep each night. I want to see it before I fall asleep at night and when I wake each morning. I stuck it right on the wall with that yellow "gum" for posters. It's much messier than my other home decor....I'll get over it soon, I'm sure.

Last tm really made me realize how powerful these really are. I had "soul mate" on last year's map with a photo of a young couple kneeling on a bed, the man proposing... I met a man soon after I created the map....it was eery how well we clicked, we connected on every level. We then had terribly bad luck, all external influences, but i really saw his true colors. He proposed on v day, I actually just broke it off during the new moon, interesting right? The Most incredible part is that every detail in that corner of my map played out to the T. Everything from him being an organic gardener, to hand picking flowers for me, even to the proposal on the bed!!! (keep on mind he had never seen my map)

So my map may have played out, but not how i intended. It Was a bumpy year full of growth.

Super super short version.

Now to figure out where to hang this year's TM. My 2009 map is such an integral part of my office nook decor that I am having a hard time taking it down. This year's map is smaller, much smaller, and I'd need to decide what to do with the cork board... use the empty space for notes and such... or add colored paper behind the 2010 map to fill the space... or put the cork board elsewhere and figure out how to hang the map. It is watercolor paper (12x18, I think) and very wrinkly and wavy and not flat at all. I could hang it with that poster sticky stuff (yellow "gum") directly to the wall either in the office behind my chair (visible to all who walk into our family office) or in place of the cork board (only visible to me when sitting at my desk and to passersby on the sidewalk, but only as "art") or in our master bedroom next to my side of the bed (visible to DH & I, but in a spot where casual visitors wouldn't really notice it). Hmmmm.........
Yours is really pretty

I finished mine Friday. I'm super happy about it!

I lurked the TM threads for the past three years, got some supplies last year but didn't make a map. I'm really happy it finally happened this year!

You can see it here. Click through to see the squares up close.

Mine is about my true love, who came to me via last year's map For those of you who didn't know, my high school sweetheart and I have reconnected after 35 years, and we are again (still?) in love

I added a lot of images and affirmations to the "roots" of my map yesterday even though I hung it up on the 15th.
I kwym!
Someone told me ages ago-- and this WORKS!-- how you tell an artwork is finished is to hold it up to a mirror. You can tell instantly what is missing. I do this with my TMs, too.

What a very cool revelation! So...why don't you just put Be Brave and Act With Courage and nothing else? If it feel right, eh?

Sunny, you are so, so creative. What a cool map! It's so...what's the word? Covert. Like at first it just looks like a beautiful piece of artwork, then you have to look very closely to see that it's a map. Very sneaky! It's gorgeous. And I instantly remembered your creative map from last year

I have the same "Family Is Everything". Lots of us must have had the same magazines! Or....Great Minds Think Alike

I was going to post my map, but it's very, very personal and I don't want it published. I may try to take pics of parts of it so that y'all can at least see some. I feel guilty not posting when everybody else has done so. Maybe I can post parts.

I have a quote "My Family, My Joy" but I totally forget what magazine it was from! I noticed that for the second year in a row my dd2 and I have a duplicate image... last map we both had the same bathtub picture, this year we both have the hand holding a heart image (one image from the table of contents or cover of the mag, one from the article). Curious!

I LOVE all the maps and the way so many people ran with the chakra format. Kind of interesting, and the manifestations are beautiful!

Browsing maps with a cup of joe in my hand....loving all of them.

I can't believe the awesome beauty of all these maps! I love your affirmations, Bunnyflakes, and the round maps, ktg and sunny -- and if that is you being messy, sunny, then I can't imagine you being tidy! You are truly an artist!

I'm a Virgo rising cursed with bad handwriting and not a lot of coordination. I can't imagine being able to make a map with the careful layouts that some of you used, though I can totally appreciate them!

Clay, the tree format is so you. I'm glad you did it again this year. (My living room is painted the same color as the room with the couch on your map)

The chakra format really added a lot to the mapping this year. The chakra organization made it a very important map for me, especially, I can really feel it. Thanks so much to saphire and aweyn for doing the chakra thread earlier this year, and for all who shared ideas, thoughts and resources. It has been the start of a spiritual journey that has already taken me to some new places and will be extremely powerful in the future.

after being away this past weekend i am just finally sitting down to work on my map. i made my first map last year and while it was beautiful and i loved it - i had a hard time finding a place to hang it where i'd see it all the time - and thus hung it up and never looked at it. i even took a pic of it and kept in with me at all times - taking it out every so often but not as much as i would have liked. interestingly enough though i did see results.

this year i want to do something different. while gathering supplies i was drawn to little blank notebooks. there were 3 of them and at first i thought i'd make 3 different map/journals - adding pics and affirmations of the specific areas i want to map then using the rest of the book throughout the year to meditate and journal on those areas...but now i think 3 books is still too cumbersome so i think i am doing it all in one book.

i am excited to get my images down!

Thanks for the compliments! I was raised in an abusive home and have worked so hard to release all that "stuff" over the years. Seeing myself more clearly is one of my goals for the coming year. I wrote several affirmations in the chakras to cover that!

I love seeing all the pictures of TMs. The most interesting part for me is how different each person's is while all of our goals/intentions/desires are remarkably similar. I LOVE IT!

my pleasure! it was an idea whose time had clearly come!

chakras instead of baguas really made me focus on ME so much more, and i really needed that this year, so i think that was part of the draw. where's the gal who started the whole idea, though? sky*hawk? i hope she did one! and hope she sees how many people she inspired!

Thanks Aubergine! I loved your map too, its flow feels like a waterful of energy!

Well, Now that I'm "finished" I am coming across things I want to manifest. Is it ok to still add to the map, or is this just mercury tALKING? Like, it's really hard being a one car family, and some other material things...

you can still add stuff to your map!

might i suggest you rething adding "its really hard being a one car family"...you may manifest exactly what you don't want - hard and one car family!

instead - try something like "i trust i will find the best way for my family to get around" (i don't do well on the spot here LOL) or if you want a second car - find an image of it!

Okay, so I hung up my 2010 map in our master bedroom next to where I sleep. I like my 2009 map (in family office above my desk) and want it to continue working its magic, too. Is that feasible?

What do you do with your previous years' maps?

I have two maps now (2008, 2009). I'm going to laminate them, and bind them into a scrapbook as the years go on.

It's doable for me, because I choose 12x18 (or something around that) size paper for my maps. I don't want to throw them away, and I bet it will be always fun to look at them.

This year I just wrote some affirmations on an orange piece of paper and hung it in my bedroom. I just couldn't get into the collage idea again this year. I have major social anxiety and had a weekend away with three other families planned for this past weekend. So the new moon days were consumed with my stress of anticipating the weekend . I am happy with the list of affirmations though. I felt really good when I read them this morning. I think they may just make everything more focused for me than the usual kind of map that I do. I also stalled out on the decluttering but I am hoping to get back on that horse and finish up soon.

Beautiful and inspiring maps everyone!
