Wow, I guess I was inspired. I assembled my pens and magazines and glue stick and just went to town cutting out stuff and I got it all done in maybe 30 minutes and I think it's my most cohesive and best looking treasure map to date. I totally ignored the fact that it was coming up except for noting the date to go get magazines, before I've spent the time leading up to it thinking about what I wanted to put on it. This time I just knew without any planning at all.

I have a question about the "fame/reputation" block of the 9-part grid... what do others put here? I'm not sure what it means... ? Is it how I want others to see me? and if so, how is it different than what I might put under "self-knowledge"? ?? Can you tell I'm confused? Any advice is appreciated.

last year was my then 3 year old grandson's first treasure map. He put babies all over it. So guess what he has now? a 2 month old baby brother (I am a little afraid of what he will put on his map this year - think i will keep the baby magazines out of his reach lol)

Just want to say hi to all my fellow TMers! This is my second TM but my first one at MDC. Someone upthread asked about what to put for health; I put an affirmation that says "I AM Health". Seeing that makes me *feel* healthy in my body and spirit and the way the image/affirmation makes me feel is what goes out into the Universe. Hope that makes sense!

For the first-timers, my advice would be to not get overwhelmed. Just because there is a space for creativity doesn't mean you have to put something there. Concentrate on what you want to manifest, in whatever area you want to manifest it.

I enjoyed reading the Prep thread and I can't wait to see how our maps manifest this year

fame/reputation is what you are known for, your public persona, the face you show the world. how you wish to be seen.

self-knowledge is also wisdom/spirituality. it's inward, versus fame/reputation being outward, even though the both relate to who you are as a person.

How about starting in areas of your life instead of starting with magazines. Meaning, say you to want manifest some things in the family area. Start somewhere within that. Like more time with your children. Find an image to depict that. I think you have just gotten yourselves wound up and now don't know how to begin. So take a chunk make that even smaller and I bet once you open the floodgates there will be no problem.

I've been relaxing with my magazines and just browsing them this afternoon. I'm a morning person so I hope with a good night sleep I'll be able to focus better in the morning and feel less overwhelmed. Still very excited about this. .

Thanks! I think that's what I'm going to do when I wake up tomorrow - just cut out everything that I'm drawn to...then go from there.

Hmmm......interesting how I posted about school earlier and have only pictures of gardens, greenhouses, and farms...oh and of course, stacks of cash.

I guess tomorrow is the focus day of education and family...........

At least DD's map has photos related to Oregon, lol.
A big picture of fruit and it says "Berries thrive where you live".......

I'll be using internet for education and family. I will focus on balancing the two this year.
I will have a corkboard focused entirely on those two things, they are the most important to me.

I do that, too. Cutting and cutting and cutting, today. Just cutting out everything that calls to me. And I have a huh-YOOGE stack of magazines still waiting for me!

They're just big block numbers. If I'm not mistaken, the bagua areas resonate to the vibrancy of those numbers, so I wanted to include them on my Treasure Map.

I have 9 coloured pieces of construction paper and I've coloured and cut out the cheerleading numbers now and pasted them to the paper, so my "background" is almost ready. I just have to figure out if I'm going to paste them into one big block or bind them into a book of sorts. I'm thinking book.

This is how I did mine. I got started first thing this morning, and was done by 3:00 when I had to pick up my DD's from school. It's standing up on my couch, and I can't stop looking at it and smiling!

Good morning (for me TM'ing mamas!!!! I'm noticing so far that I'm finding a LOT of words/phrases... and not so many pictures Might have to hit google images to help me find a few.

I'm doing a completely different map than my previous ones.. at least I think I am! I'm making it out of 3 pieces of a3 posterboard (smaller than the usual big one) and I'm going to make them into a trifold type thing so it can stand on my dresser on it's own. (our real estate agent doesn't like thumbtack holes etc in walls *scowl*) I picked a lovely orange (funny, TM time is the ONLY time I like orange even remotely!) and yellow papers. And some green for accent.. cause I like it pretty It's going to be like a great big sunflower!

Okay! I'm almost done.

Well. Definitely done for today. Might add a couple more images and sayings in the next few days, but the map feels just about complete.

This year, I kept a piece of rose quartz as I worked on my map, as well as my two maps from the previous years. Not sure why, but it just felt right.

I surprised myself: this is the first year that I did not follow baquas outline. It is interesting to see that the only areas i addressed without outline were: relationship with DP, DSD, new home, new baby, and a dog. Apparently that's what I want from this new year, huh?

Oh, and on a side note - I really liked an expression I came across: "The best of both worlds", and put it on my map. The funny part is, I have no idea what "both worlds" I'm talking about heh. Guess I'll find out soon enough!
