I recall reading somewhere that an orange background has a special energy. Can someone refresh me on that one. I'm also finding myself drawn to green, possibly because I'm a green event planner and I'm expanding my business beyond organic skincare to include green consulting and writing. My future seems to be all about green....even my need for money

I wrote on my article that my friend Marg would sometimes skip the map and just write " I Am" affirmations on Orange paper. I've also done it.
Orange is one of the lower chakra colors. A color that has a lot of energy in it. I kind of think of it like a Match/flame.

I know our treasure maps are supposed to be about us, not other people, but what if I have friends or family that need some things brought in?

I have a friend who is 8 months pregnant and in an emotionally abusive marriage. She's struggling with what to do, and right now is falling into the typical abuse pattern of accepting his apologies an thinking/hoping everything is going to be ok when he apologizes for what he does. Our other friend and I have been struggling with how best to support her. We don't want to tell her what to do we just want to make sure that the support and advice we are giving her is going to help her make the best decision for her and her kids, whatever that may be. Can I put an affirmation about that, like "I support my friends in making the best decisions for them and their kids?" ("S" if you're reading this, hope you don't mind my posting this).

I also would like to do something similar for my stepson who's 21 and has come to the realization that his 2yo son isn't his and the mother has been manipulating him to get him to pay for things and babysit. But, he's attached to the boy and wants to continue to be his dad even though I am certain that his ex will tell him he can't see his son anymore once she no longer needs him. It will be devastating and he already has some emotional issues, depression and a past suicide attempt.

Or, should I just have an affirmation that other people's problems are not mine to solve?

It involves Mercury/Saturn&Uranus and Chiron. It will be one helluva summer and I believe that is why this Map is very potent.

DS (almost 4 yo) was cutting and pasting cars and dogs! doh!!

We haven't started pasting, just pulling out stuff, but my ds has pulled out A LOT of images of dogs. I hate to tell him what he can and can't put on his map, but i did let him know that we "probably won't want to use all the pictures in our piles," lol and i think i said something like "I really don't want you to put a bunch of dogs on your map, because we can only take care of one dog (who we have already)....." or something. he said he isn't trying to get us more dogs, but that those were the pictures he liked. I think everything in his large pile is dogs and desserts! I plan to go to the thrift store tomorrow for a wider variety of magazines.

Bunnyflakes, re your question about helpful people/ angels:
I haven't done a tm before and i dont know yet what i will use in this space on my map. But I feng shui'ed my sewing room recently, and on the shelf that is in that bagua, i put a small framed painting of Jesus, and a framed photo of my ex m-il who has passed (she is holding a quilt she made in the photo and she is the one who inspired me to take up quilting). Also, my mom gave me a photo of her and my dad, and i put it there as well....i wasn't really thinking of them as "helpful people," but since there were photos there already, that is where i put it. It is probably not a coincidence that they just helped me to buy a brand new mac daddy sewing machine. I also put things i make for people on that shelf, before i give it to them, or anything i am passing on to others (donations, hand me downs, gifts etc). Like, ME being a helpful person, you know....in this vein, i think this is the place on MY map to put images of things that i can do for others, like volunteering or whatever.
I might be wrong about this, but i am thinking this also is the place on the map to put images to manifest new friendships (which is something i do want on my map). If these things are NOT in line with this bagua, i hope someone will correct me...
Or, specifically for you, maybe you could put an image of a church or something to represent a welcoming, loving, just right-for-you new church and church family. just a suggestion, tho!

Hey y'all, I'm Treasure Mapping for the first time this year!!!!! I made most of my map tonight and will do the finishing touches during the next couple days. We have been cleaning house recently but I still have to dig through both kids' clothes to find stuff to pass down. After a bunch of meetings I went out to get magazines around 9pm. I flipped through a few and nothing really jumped out at me. I finally just bought 3 I thought might have stuff if i can take some time to look at them more slowly. I also have a huge stack of magazines. I never seem to get rid of them.

Tomorrow is sooooo busy and is also my birthday so I'm really hoping I can find some time to work on this.

I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and very pleased with my map. I can think of one more big thing I really need to add, but other than that I think I'm done. I put some energy and affirmations over it and hung it on my wall.

Went out and got supplies yesterday, cut a bunch of images around lunch time and I had an idea of how I want to put it together. I am looking for a few more images and the best places to put them - hoping to get it done today or tomorrow. I found some beautiful pictures that I am excited about. I am not a very visual person and usually have trouble with it but the images came more strongly in some areas

That's the section where I put friends. Last year I had a pic of lots of smiling people at a dinner party, and the words "I am surrounded by wonderful friends" or some such.

My "map" is so far imageless. It's a bunch of quotes and I am very driven to find my colored pencils. Which I am on day 2 of can't finding... Who knows what will come of this, but it's fun and interesting in a scooby mystery kind of way.

this is also the bagua relating to fatherhood and masculinity (which does still apply to women, because everyone has a feminine and masculine side). i was kind of scratching my head about "helpful people" but decided it means my non-family support network. that's just what it means to me though. for some reason, when i first read it, i could only think of random strangers - like the boys who carry the groceries out to my car (which i actually dislike and wish they would let me take the dang cart outside) or medical people.

as for wanting to do less travel, i think that sentiment totally belongs there! but of course, expressed in a positive sentiment, like "home sweet home".
