hair clips etc. that toddlers can't pull off?

My dd's hair is always a mess, and she immediately removes any kind of clip I put in her hair. Any ideas?

The only thing that works for us are the little tiny Goody elastics. I have to wrap them around about four times, but then DD can't get them out. She is ok with having her hair up now (and out of her face) so I can put clips in as well, but they have to be in behind the elastics or else she will pull them right out.

That's what we use here too. I usually just grab dd's bangs and put them in a pony on the top/side of her head. If I use clips she pulls them out.

In a word: bangs. DD won't tolerate anything in her hair, so she will always have bangs (or fringe, if you prefer). And when it gets really long, if she won't wear pony tail holders, it will have to be cut shoulder length. My friend will NOT cut her daughter's hair and the child can't stand clips, so she walks around with her hair in her eyes all the time. It drives me nuts.
