Hello everyone, I am 12 weeks pregnant with di-di twins, and am interested in elimination communication- has anyone tried it out there with multiples?? I have friends with single babies who are doing it successfully.

thanks!

I did not, but I wanted to. However, in my particular situation-17 month old also potty learning, three older homeschooled children, six kids ages six and under-it was too much and I knew it would be too much. I'm interested to hear if anyone has done it successfully! Remember though that there are many levels of involvement in EC. You don't have to go all out if it doesn't work for you. Some people I know only do EC at home and use cloth back up while out. Some people just catch the first pee of the day, etc. Good luck!

ETA: Congrats on your twins!!!!

We started putting our babies on the potty throughout the day when they could sit up with a bit of support - at around 5 months. It was early enough that they still knew to pee & poop without the diaper but late enough that it wasn't too hard/ another task to try with multiples.
They have been pooping in the potty regularly since then, with the only major regression happening when they were figuring out how to walk. They'll be 2 in May and I'm sure will be fully potty trained this summer once we take a week or so to run around without diapers.

Hi and congrats on being pregnant with twins. To reply to your question, yes, many families have ec'd twins. It's essential to have a very relaxed attitude and approach since you'll be so busy with many other things too. Wait until you feel rested and recovered from the birth and then when you want to make a start, give it a try. In the meantime, read up on ec/infant potty training while you have a bit of free time
