Brushes for mineral makeup

I just recently tried out some Everyday Minerals samples and loved it. I need to buy proper brushes for the makeup, what do I really need?

The brushes they sell are actually really nice and good quality, especially for the price. A lot of people either prefer the flat top kabuki or the regular kabuki. The flat top tends to give more coverage than the kabuki though.

I bought the flat top (big) kabuki from them, thinking it would be better/quicker. I liked it a lot and then ordered the mini-buki (or whatever it's called) to use for blush b/c the big brush is a bit too big for me. Well, ever since I got the smaller one, I haven't used the big one at all. The bristles are longer and I just like it better.

That's the only brush you really need for the face makeup. For eye makeup, I use a flat slanted eyeliner brush that I wet down before dipping in the powder (I think I got it from EM also, but if not I got it at Sephora...) and a really old eye shadow brush that I got ages ago. It's from MAC and it's lasted a LONG time (like over 10 years long)!

Thanks so much, ladies. The selection of brushes was kind of overwhelming to choose from. I think I might like the smaller brush too, I'll have to give it a try once they are back in stock.

So to apply eye liner you just wet the brush and dip it right in the powder?
Has anyone tried the pearl or shimmer eye shadows? Are they really sparkly?

I think I have some of the shimmer ones (less sparkly than the pearl?) and they are not sparkly. Just a little, well, shimmer-y, but they definitely don't look like you used glitter on your eyes. They're nice.

Also, a tip: I tried KT Naturals too and LOOOVE them. They don't have quite as many eyeshadow shades as EM, but I love the ones I got, and EM didn't have those particular shades back when I started using them. So if you can't find what you want on EM, try KT. (KT Naturals also gives you the option of ordering a "refill" w/o the plastic container, so if you (like me) have lots of little pots from EM samples you can wash them out and reuse them for eyeshadow etc.
