Is this teething?

DS came home from daycare today with a fever of 101.9. He is 20 mo old and 3 of his canines have come in. Last week DS was fussy and not eating, but then by Saturday the drooling stopped and he started eating again. Then today - fever and lots & lots of drool along with chewing on his stuffed animal. He is not his usual happy self. You can definitely tell he has a fever - warm to the touch.

I guess I'm just hoping it is his teeth and not something else.

Could be, my kids always ran a low grade fever when teething. My brother would run a 105 fever with teething, he was my moms 6th child and the first couple times she would take him in only to get a clean bill of health. Then she realized that right after those fevers he would get a tooth. Happened every time.

Hope your LO feels better soon.

I'd definitely say teething. Watch for other more serious symptoms like dehydration and follow the standard guidelines for how high and how long to let a fever last before going to the doctor (can't remember what they are, I always have to check my book!) and otherwise just cross your fingers that tooth comes in soon.
