i'll try to keep it short lol.
we were going to pedi A who sucked, so we switched to pedi B.
before i switched i called pedi B and asked if there would be a problem since we do not vaccinate , they said no.
i also asked if there would be a problem with me crossing out some things on the refusal form and rewording it. they said no.

monday we went there and they would not let me cross anything out. i said well i'm sorry but i am not going to sign it with it worded the way it is.
i explained why blah blah blah and the lady said well you'll need to find a new pedi.

so we switched back to the old pedi until i can find a family prac. b/c i've heard they are alot nicer with all of this.

now i am scared if i go back to the old pedi they will not let me cross stuff out, and i see on here everyone says to bring your own written thing but
what if they refuse to accept that.

my son is on medicaid if that makes any difference.

Why do you need to go back to the old pedi right away? If your child is sick, maybe just go in and see the doctor for that issue. But if you are not vaxing, you really don't need to go to WBV. The WBV schedule is set by the vax schedule. In the meantime, you might find your new doctor that you are happy with.

well i dont need to go back right away. i was concerned if i did not that medicaid would contact cps. my niece told me that it happens.
i've already contacted medicaid to ask and no one there could help me of course. they are having a supervisor call me back in a few days. tomorrow will be the third day.

so if medicaid can indeed contact cps for me not taking him to wbc i do need to go back.
however i refuse to sign that damn form unless i can cross it out. how is this even legal

Doctors are free to call CPS whenever they don't agree with you, but that does not make it medical neglect. Unless your child has a condition that is not getting treated...there are posters here with Medicaid that do not do all or any WBVs. It would be discrimination against lower income persons as those with private insurance are not subject to that requirement.

If it is a nurse or other staff giving you a hard time, discuss it with the doctor.

Also, if it is the AAP form, the AAP says that parents may alter the form.

The Arizona State Court of Appeals has slapped down efforts by Child Protective Services to have a youngster in foster care immunized over a parent's objections....

Potentially more sweeping, the judge said the laws that allow the state to take temporary custody of a child specifically spell out what powers and responsibilities that includes. These range from the right of physical custody and the right to discipline the child to the requirement to provide adequate food, clothing, shelter and medical care. Eckerstrom said anything not on that list remains the right of the biological parent.

Emmeline, I can't find what California says about immunizations on that website.

I have a friend whose son was taken into CPS custody when he and the mother refused vaccines. They clashed with the mother's Scientology beliefs (Scientology is another kettle of fish). The father, my friend, got his son back a week later. But I'm personally terrified of losing even a day with my baby until getting to court to tell the judge to give me my kid back, that laws allow for not vaccinating.
