When/How to start hypnobabies home study?

I just got this homestudy and and 21 weeks today. I know this is a little early to start but want to get an early start since it's going to be hard for me to find time to listen to the scripts when I won't be tired enough to fall asleep (that's what's happened the 3 times I've tried so far). So, I'm wondering what your recommendations are for starting early as far as how long you use each "week". Do you spend 3 weeks on each or spend more time on week 1 before moving on, etc.?

I'd also love to hear any other helpful feedback on ways to use the program.

Thanks!

Well, I'm in pretty much the same boat. I'm about 24 weeks, so a little further along. I've just started Week 1. My understanding from reading the booklet was that I should just do it as laid out - one week per 'class' for the total of 5, then on to the maintenance programme for the rest of the pregnancy. But I'm all ears to hear if there are any other suggestions!

I would go ahead and start. That's about when I started. I really liked listening to the affirmations even earlier than that. You would just follow the program, then do maintenance until birth. That way you'll be fully educated in the whole practice, and you can really get good practice in! I started early but because I worked at a school, there was no place to practice throughout the day, so I was glad to have a little extra time to get my practice in just nights/weekends. Also, it's wonderful for dealing positively with pregnancy symptoms and people talking to you about birth. I really think it had a lot to do with my very easy pregnancy.

I slept through my hypnobabies. It's hard NOT to. I agree it helps for having and easy pregnancy, helps get you to sleep if you have pregnancy insomnia or general difficulty getting to sleep, helps ease fears, helps stay positive. I'm almost 5 weeks post partum I'm a mentally do the scripts to go to bed.

I only listen to Special Place, Easy Comfortable Childbirth, and Pregnancy Affirmations until 28 weeks or so. At that point I go through the program as outlined and continue maintenance practice until I give birth.

I listened to pregnancy affirmations pretty much as soon as I got it. I started the program around 26 weeks (I think?) and just did each lesson for 2 weeks and then continued maintenence until birth.

Me, too! I eventually tried to listen to the CDs that I had never heard awake, b/c I wanted to know what was on them, LOL, but I had to keep trying over and over, kept conking out. It was great for getting to sleep comfortably, and then I sort of napped through transition during birth! Thank you, HypnoBabies!
