UTI in 3 year old son??!! HELP

I think my 3 year old son my have an uti....The past few days he has complained that he had an "owey" on his penis after pee-ing... I thought maybe he had irritated it on his clothing and told him it will go away, we need to let it heal.

Tonight before going to bed he was about to go pee and right before the pee comes out he says, "oops, I forgot that I have an owey on my penis." He let the pee out, and I could see him flinching and trying to pinch it back like it was burning.

Do I need to get him to the Docs right away??!! Can I try anything at home? My son has had a very traumatic dental experience as a one year old, and once we set foot in any medical facility he begins to panic, going to a doctor is a scary thing for him so I'm hoping this is something I can kick at home.

Any ideas, suggestions?? I was thinking of starting him on some colloidal silver tomorrow, and letting him run around bottomless, pushing the water to try and encourage lots of flushing out any toxins...

HELP!!

We have been dealing with UTI's with my DD (2 years old) on and off for 2 months. I have tried all homeopathic stuff recommended and noting has helped her. We have doubled her probiotics, drinking a lot of water & sugarless cranberry juice, cut out sugar and have had her on some herbal supplements to help clean/strengthen urinary/bladder function and I am sure I am leaving stuff out. I believe once they are actually in pain it is just beyond the point of homeopathic/herbal help. It is very uncommon for small children to have UTI's so a Dr should be seen IMHO. If DD has one more infection (it will be number 3 or just 1 huge one that is not being killed by the antibiotics) she is going to a urologist to make sure its not something developmentally wrong causing the UTI. I want to add that I am not an antibiotic loving person. I feel they are a LAST resort and this is the first time that DD has ever had to take them. Luckily your DS sounds as if he is potty trained so you can do a clean catch specimen. Sadly, DD, was not at the beginning of this and had to be cathed... she has been severely traumatized by this. Also, follow your instincts... They have not been able to culture any bacteria on DD's urine... there are a few theories behind why this is... but that does not mean that there isn't something going on. If your DS is hurting something is going on and needs to be looked into. I hope he gets better soon, I know how heart breaking it is to see your LO in pain.
