diaper rash?

Dd is 5 mo. We have cd'd from the start with no problems. On Easter day, I waited a little too long to change her and I thought she'd developed ammonia burn. I switched her to sposies while that cleared up. When I put her back in cd a few days later, I had brand new prefolds for her because she'd outgrown the nb size. Her little bottom was bright red after the first diaper change (only about 2 hours, not saturated) and had little spots on one side of her bottom. It's been like that for the past couple of weeks every time she wears cloth. And the location of the redness or spots (not always both) changes - sometimes way up front and on her belly, sometimes on her bottom, sometimes on her upper thighs.

I would be inclined to think yeast in the diapers if they weren't brand new and prepped with the same routine I've been using.

I'm hesitant to put her in cd these days because she doesn't get this with the disposables. Any ideas?

The first thing that comes to mind is that she's sensitive to your detergent. And yes, this can change over time, if she hasn't been up until now.

Country Save is the only cd "approved" detergent I can find in our city, according to the lists I've read. The only other is All F&C, but I know this is on the questionable list, but I can certainly try it. Any other suggestions?

Yeah sounds like she may have become allergic to the detergent, but it could also be something you are eating if she is breast fed. I though my dd was all of the sudden allergic to Tide then a yr later realized when I drink Mt. Dew she gets a rash.

Something to think about anyways...

We have used Charlies Soap, I have to order it off the net, but if you order more than one bag it is free shipping. We love it and have used it for a yr or more. I know some people are nervous to use it as was I but all has been fine.
