Line-drying and allergies

Do those of you with allergies avoid line-drying your clothes? I put a few things out the other day, but I'm not sure it was a good idea. The tree pollen is so thick here right now that my patio table was completely covered with yellow.

When the pollen is that thick, I don't leave anything outside. However, when it's normal I don't have a problem with it. I don't notice that our clothes have any more pollen than the air around us does.

I don't dry my clothes outside in the fall (when my allergies kick in). I have one of those unfolding drying racks so I use that in the house or hang stuff up on hangers.

I hang them inside, on hangers on clothing racks, b/c the dirt alone outside would stick to them and make me ill. I live in the land of sand, though. Luckily, the clothes dry in less than an hr with the ceiling fan going.

I've been told not to line dry by my allergist but I always do anyway and I never notice a difference. I've never seen pollen like you're describing though! I think it was high allergy season for me I might dry some things in the dryer, but for me that's late June...

No, allergies make it impossible to line dry. We see pollen floating through the air sometimes! It's too bad, but something that serious allergy/asthma sufferers have to deal with.

I don't/can't either, and I'm glad to save the extra time. I will line dry dish cloths, though. I tried hanging our clothes/bedding inside, but we don't really have room in our tiny house plus it took forever. I'm actually very glad for the modern convenience of clothes dryers.

Yes, it gets really bad here. My car has so much pollen on it that it looks like I went off-roading in yellow dirt. I actually had to use the windshield wipers to get it off enough for me to see!

This is how it is here. My allergies are so bad that I feel like clawing my eyes out... and that's using everything at my disposal... Claritin, Benedryl, Neti pot, local honey.

I absolutely cannot hang dry my clothes in the spring or early fall. I do in the middle of summer, when the pollen counts are down and even in the winter.

Also, when dd is playing outside at this time of year, I make her change her clothes and take a sponge bath as soon as she comes in. I can't be around her, otherwise.
